With my grandparents

My grandparents came to visit me (OK “us”) at the end of November. It was so nice … I was happy because they love me so much and never get tired playing with me. And my parents were also happy since they were finally able to get some sleep. Officially, my first steps were made on my grandma’s birthday: December 26, 2008. I was one year, one month, and 18 days old when I started to walk‼‼

Unfortunately, my grandparents didn’t stay until planned. My grandma got very sick and they had to leave in mid January. She had a problem with a kidney stone that got stuck (somewhere) and caused a serious infection. She developed a septic shock and it’s a miracle that she survived. Her blood pressure when she was admitted in the hospital (here) was 50/29! She spent almost a week in intensive care unit and back in Belgrade another 2 months. She is fine now although much thinner (about 35 lb less than when she arrived).

"Swimming"

I went to the swimming pool. What a joy! I was screaming and kicking and having fun like never before. I am a fish in human body. No, I am a frog since I can’t really swim but I can jump. I am, I am … I am like my mom – I have her genes. I like water and I can’t wait to start swimming. I have to learn it soon.

Pots, pans and other toys

I don’t understand why my parents are buying me toys when my favorite toys are pots and pans. I love to explore our kitchen. There are so many things there. And when I see a vacuum cleaner I go nuts! That’s a piece of art for me. It’s so sophisticated, so many parts, and the colors are not aggressive. My regular toys just can’t compare to the vacuum cleaner.

Eating

I am slowly learning how to use utensils. It’s hard. And I don’t see a point when I can use my fingers. Cheese is a perfect example. And also, why am I supposed to drink water from a bottle and not eat the bottle afterwards?

My first birthday

was on November 8, 2008. Untie Tayo came to visit me and then we had a party on Sunday. I was surprised when they presented a cake with a candle – I wasn’t sure what was I supposed to do. It turned out they wanted me to blow a candle and I just wanted to have a cake (“reform torta”). Adults are strange.

So how was my first year? Not bad although I am still living with my parents, have no job, no money, no girlfriend (not even a real friend). I am having difficulties communicating with other people (and other animals), so I am often frustrated because people (including my parents) misunderstand me. On the other hand, I really enjoy eating all kinds of foods, exploring the world, and catching other people’s smiles. I eat very healthy food but I should probably cut on cheese (especially since I don’t have it with wine). I still sleep twice day (probably should do it only once) but I just like sleeping. I have four teeth and so far I have no difficulties eating anything I want. Well, even without a single tooth I was able to make a hole in a blanket. Life is good so far.
