Why I can’t fall asleep and why I can’t get up

I usually fall asleep around 10 or 10:30PM.  I know, that’s pretty late for a kid of my age but I just can’t fall asleep.  And, of course, in the morning I can’t get up early.  Generally, I need between 10 and 11 hours of sleep so it is hard for me to get up before 9.  Needles to say that I am always late for my school and I am really lucky they haven't yet kicked me out.  I had numerous conversations with my parents and we are really trying hard to solve this problem.  Finally, I came up with a pretty good explanation:
“My bed is really hard in the evening and that’s why I can’t fall asleep.  And in the morning my bed is extremely soft and then I can’t get out of it.  And especially when it rains outside my bed becomes even softer.“

Ja sam mu odgovorio “znam tata, ja sam to sam naucio”.

A trip to India ... well, some other time

We were supposed to go to India - the whole family.  And then my father freaked out. He woke up in the middle of the night (that’s what he told me) with some crazy thoughts and fears and decided that I am still too young for India; My mom will go without us. Well, they didn’t tell me this (she is leaving on Sunday) but I figured it out.  So last night I asked my mom “are you going to India alone”? She looked quite surprised and said “yes; you know there are some little bugs that can bite you and dad and I are a little concerned for your health.  Mommy will go alone to check it out but I will not go to see tigers and elephants without you and then if everything is OK we will go together”.”But mom, how can Bala [he is our Indian friend] deal with them (bugs)?”.  Mom was surprised again, she was looking for words ... “well” she said “he lives in India and he is used to those little bugs ...”  “Oh, I see, OK”.

I have a good memory

Last night dad asked me: “remember when we were in Paris and we were in that cafe (boulangerie) eating baguette sandwich ...” I thought for a while and then I said “you mean when I had an orange juice made from real oranges, and when you took some veggies from my sandwich because I didn’t like them?”  My father froze.  He said “Yes, how do you remember all that? I can’t believe it. And I don’t even remember taking those veggies from your sandwich.”
